Hello! For our first AICE media project, we were assigned to do a camera shots quiz!
The assignment was to take 15 pictures using different shots, for example, a long shot or a close-up shot, and angles, like a low angle or high angle, to create a story.
My partner and I decided to do a story about two erasers, a pink and white one, going on an adventure and climbing a really tall plant. The two erasers start the climb and the Pink eraser begins to get ahead of the White eraser. The White eraser grows jealous and pushes the Pink eraser off! It's very dramatic. Thankfully the Pink eraser survives!
I had a lot of fun doing this project, it was a bit challenging to get the right angles and shots for each photo but it turned out good. I had originally brought my digital camera in hopes of using it to take the pictures but it didn't work out since it had run out of battery. We ended up just using mine and Isa's phones. I have an iPhone 14 and she has an iPhone 15 max. Despite her phone and camera being newer and "better" we liked the pictures taken on my phone better. Once we had collected all the photos, we chose which ones we liked best and added them to a PowerPoint.
We did well on the angles and despite having no dialogue, the story flowed well. It was difficult having the erasers not have faces to show their emotions, but Isabella and I portrayed the story well without having neither dialogue nor facial expressions. We could improve on some of the shots we took, especially the long shot. It was difficult to measure how good and proportionate long shots would look because of how small the erasers were. I also would've preferred to use flash or better lighting to take these photos because the iPhone camera made some of the pictures look blurry.
Overall, this project was entertaining and fun! It was cool to be able to take our own shots and come up with a story. After this quiz, I will not be able to watch movies or shows the same way.
Here is the project!
